Respecting the property’s context and the client’s needs, this house radiates relaxed simplicity, functionality and is filled with natural light. Responding to the client’s brief, it has strategically been designed into three components. The master suite in one wing, the kitchen, dining and living in the centre, and the kid’s wing in the third. Thoughtfully placed windows create sightlines throughout the house, visually connecting the wings as well as framing the exterior environment. The pared back simple peaked roof form references the traditional housing within the area. While the vertical timber cladding celebrates this form and weathers overtime, becoming a part of its environment.
